Short company description:

History on the Road is a documentary and community storytelling project I created to bring history directly to the people. Through travel, interviews, and on-location storytelling, we will explore the people, places, and events that shaped America while helping communities tell their own stories as we approach our nation’s 250th anniversary.

This project is about preserving history, inspiring civic pride, and ensuring that local stories are not forgotten.

What is one question you would like the host to ask you?

What is History on the Road and how will the project impact the veteran community.

What’s one thing we should know that makes your company unique?

The core philosophy behind the project is that the best way to understand history is to stand where it happened. Frustrated that most students only encounter history through distant textbooks and computer screens.

The Vision: Taking U.S. history ‘out of the textbook and onto the road’ by filming on-location across the country.

The Focus: Instead of repeating mainstream, well-worn historical narratives, the series spotlights overlooked stories, hidden landmarks, and local voices—including students, local historians, and military veterans.

To transition the idea from a classroom concept to a cinematic reality, Mr. Flint partnered with Amelio Media and award-winning documentarian Nicole Amelio-Casper, M.A., who serves as the filmmaker and development lead. The team also utilizes boots-on-the-ground support from Knight Eagle Consulting Services to navigate the logistics of filming across America

How do you define success?

Defining Success

The core philosophy behind History on the Road is simple: the best way to understand history is to stand where it happened. Too often, students experience American history through distant textbooks, computer screens, and classroom lectures. This project is designed to change that by taking U.S. history out of the textbook and onto the road.

Success, however, will not be measured simply by how many miles we travel, how many episodes we produce, or how many students watch the series. I will define success by the people we reach and the connections we create along the way.

Our goal is to reach students not only in classrooms across this amazing nation, but also to become part of the communities we visit. In every city, town, and village, we want to connect with the local veteran community, historians, educators, students, and families who carry their own stories of America’s past.

At each stop, veterans will not simply be subjects of history. They will be part of the conversation. Their experiences, sacrifices, and perspectives will help students understand that history is not something confined to the past—it is something carried forward by the people who lived it.

Rather than repeating only the familiar stories found in traditional textbooks, History on the Road will seek out overlooked stories, hidden landmarks, local history, and voices that deserve to be heard. We want students to meet the people who preserve these stories and discover how national history is connected to the places where they live.

To bring this vision from a classroom concept to a cinematic reality, I partnered with Amelio Media and award-winning documentarian Nicole Amelio-Casper, M.A., who serves as the filmmaker and development lead. The project also relies on the boots-on-the-ground support of Knight Eagle Consulting Services to help navigate the challenges of filming and traveling across America.

Ultimately, I will define the success of History on the Road by the connections we make: the student who discovers a new passion for history, the veteran whose story is finally heard, the community that sees its history recognized, and the people across America who realize that history is not somewhere far away—it is right where they live.

That is the mission: to study the past, connect generations, and build a better tomorrow—one community at a time.
